Who we are

We are passionate wedding photographers and technologists who want to enlighten the world of wedding photography. The Post Production, Album Design and Layout, and Album Printing worlds are still living in the dark ages. The services being offered today are too expensive, too slow, terrible at customer service and marginal on quality. We want to change all of this by providing the wedding photography community the value, quality, speed, and flexibility that it deserves.

We are alumni from Harvard, Wharton, University of California(s), Arizona State University, & BITS Pilani, and along with photography, we have a cumulative experience of over 100 years in various roles – marketing, technology, communications, and even non-profits and academia. Three of our co-founders have previously served as CEOs at their respective companies. The bios of a few co-founders can be found below:

James Sanders

Demo James began taking photos at the age of 6 with his dad’s instamatic camera and has had a camera with him ever since. His approach to photography is fresh and dynamic, yet humble. James’ images document and transform life’s most precious moments. After obtaining a degree in fine art from the University of California at Santa Cruz, James moved to Los Angeles and spent 5 years working in commercial and advertising photography. After moving north to San Francisco he began working in editorial photography for a variety of local and national publications. The new work of photographing real people and real stories was a natural segue into wedding photography that is all about real people and their families during an emotionally charged time. As his wedding business grew, he realized that shooting weddings brought together all of the aspects of photography he loved, documenting fleeting moments and revealing the beauty of every individual life. Weddings also present unique technical and creative challenges while allowing a great deal of creative freedom. There is only one chance to capture a moment of a wedding. The photographer must be in the moment; ready to take advantage of the light, the action, the emotion and the setting to create a great photograph.

Over the past 5 years, James has become very busy shooting weddings with his wife Lisa all over the United States and in Mexico. James is Oodio’s domain expert whose wide experience and exemplary services we envision to expand the world over. James has earned rave reviews for treatment to his assignments over last 10 years of experience in the US market.

Lisa Crawford

Demo Lisa is an amazing wedding and lifestyle photographer whose work is regularly seen on Style Me Pretty, Wedding Chicks and Today’s Bride in the US. Lisa has a long history in visual art and the wedding industry. Her visual career began in cinematography, and she has made the transition into still frames smoothly. Lisa loves the intimacy and diversity of wedding photography. The dynamic blend of fine art, photojournalistic and fashion photography excites her creatively and engages her technically.

Lisa is Oodio’s domain expert and is also James’s better half. Together the duo enjoys an envious reputation as a renowned wedding photography couple in the San Francisco Bay area.

Akash Raman

Demo Akash has worked with Ashoka Innovators for the Public, Engineers for Social Impact (as CEO), BITS Pilani (as Visiting Faculty), Infineon Technologies (Singapore), BITSAA, and a few research institutes over the course of his life. During his time at his respective occupations he has been involved with strategy, consulting, fund-raising, teaching, development, and chip & algorithm design. Akash is a graduate from Harvard University and Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (India). He holds the distinction of being one of the youngest university faculty members in India, as well as being one of the youngest CxOs in the country. He has been a recipient of several fellowships, including the Harvard University Fellowship, the Starting Bloc, and the Sandbox fellowships.

Akash serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Oodio (US & India), a position he recently graduated to after being the Operations Head (India) since the inception of Oodio. More about Akash here

Smita Bhatt

Demo Smita is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi, where she pursued her post graduation in Advertising and Public Relations. After initially working in the domain of public relations/corporate communication, she gradually shifted into establishing herself in the field of Telecom Service Marketing and then to hardcore Marketing Communication functions while she worked with world’s largest telecom brands - Bharti Airtel & Tata Teleservices Limited. Besides carrying vast exposure in the customer communication, designing customer loyalty programs, product launch, handling PR and media interaction assignments, she’s been a volunteer in organizing engrossing engagement events for customers as well as employees.

With her natural penchant for newer challenges, energy and passion towards her work, background in the creative field of advertising and experience in the ever demanding, robust telecom marketing, she’s been the natural choice of the company to lead the Wedding Photography business in India.

Aditya Rao

Demo Apart from co-founding Oodio, Aditya is a Senior Developer at Yahoo! where he designed and implemented CRM Integration solutions for Yahoo Sales. Prior to Yahoo!, he worked as a Software developer at Dell where he lead a team to develop and customize applications to convert the Cost Centers into Profit centers by reduction of the Average Handling Time and conversion of Service to Sales.

With his strong technology and sales background, Aditya heads the business development, marketing and consulting services for Oodio’s Post Production services in India.
