Post Production (Image Correction)
Post Production (also known as image correction) is a craft and a science in itself.
Post Production is no substitute for the skill for a photographer but it can definitely
assist in bringing out the best in your art. Because of this a majority of professional
wedding photographers around the world employ Post Production as a key component
of their workflow.
Post Production, however, is easier said than done. It requires an artist’s mind
and a scientist’s brain. The artistic component is what separates an exceptional
photographer from the usual while the science of Post Production ensures consistency
of quality. Consistency is part of a photographer’s unique style – and the main
reason why Brides and Grooms choose to work with a particular photographer.
Post Production can also be time consuming and stressful. Most photographers get
into wedding photography because they love to shoot pictures and interact with their
clients. Very few photographers get into business because they are excited about
Post Producing their work. Imagine curating a 3000 image wedding under the pressure
of a deadline – it is hard and no fun at all.
This is where Oodio comes in. We work with you to understand your art and apply
our science to off load the stress of Post Production to achieve perfect harmony.
Each of our finished images undergoes a strict workflow to get ‘that’ final look
which separates your style from the rest.
We completely honor your individual choice of shooting in JPEG or in RAW format
and are well trained to deliver excellent results for both. Even though RAW images
give us more room for correcting the missed details and give greater control than
the JPEGs. Just hand us your JPEG or RAW images and expect us to apply our services
as an extension of your individual Post Production team.
Here are the services we offer. You may pick and choose these services per your
requirement from the a-la-carte menu or ask for a value for money customized package
that includes all of these services for an extremely reasonable price. It is completely
your call.
Culling
|
|
The best and most relevant pictures survive the culling process. Each image is carefully
scrutinized 3-4 times keeping your preference and criteria in mind. Out of a bulk
of more than a few thousands images, we handpick the best that describe the episode-wise
story of the wedding. Poorly exposed images, awkward expressions, out of focus frames
and repetitive images are culled out in this process. Again you are the boss - tell
us how many culled images you would like – and we will deliver to your satisfaction.

Color Correction
|
|
A photographer is always challenged with a variety of lighting conditions, settings
and situations to deal with while shooting a live wedding. That’s why photographers
usually shoot more pictures than they need. Before delivery to the customer, it
is important to synchronize these pictures in your unique style. Color correction
helps bring a stamp of your work to the images.
We learn your style through sample images you provide us or through your website
and blog. Our exhaustive workflow allows us to use the best tools available in color
correcting your images to ensure uniformity of White Balance, Color Temperature,
Contrast, Brightness, Exposure, Hue & Saturation and Clarity Levels.
Once our team is trained to your style, we apply the same to each of your image.

Basic Artistic Edit
|
|
After having thoroughly color corrected your images, we hand craft selected images
through a basic artistic edit. Artistic edits add effects that cannot be added in-camera
or during the photo shoot and are applied to 10-12% of your best final delivered
images. Basic Artistic Editing services include:
-
Removing Unwarranted Blemishes: We use Lightroom's tools to erase or diminish blemishes.
-
Black and White Effects: We manipulate hue, saturation, luminance, and contrast
to achieve a high quality black and white conversion. Our clients can dictate if
they prefer a neutral B&W or a slight color tone (warm or cool).
-
Creative Saturation: We use selective saturation manipulation to achieve a distinct
look or style. For example, we can increase saturation in just blue to deepen the
sky color, or just green to enhance plants. We can also decrease saturation of a
specific color cast to achieve natural colors.
-
Sepia Tone Effects: We use split tone color effects to achieve the desired sepia
color while maintaining richness in the shadows.
-
Sepia Tone Effects: We use split tone color effects to achieve the desired sepia
color while maintaining richness in the shadows. Basic Dodging and Burning: We use
brushes and gradients to selectively improve local areas in the photograph. We will
also adjust contrast and saturation in conjunction with exposure to create seamless
dodges and burns.

Advanced Artistic Edits
|
|
Our advanced editing services are applied to 10-12% of your best final delivered
images. These images are clinically maneuvered (in Photoshop) to stand apart and
define the real story of the wedding. Our highly skilled staff members ensure that
along with the advanced artistic edits, consistency is maintained in the overall
visual experience. Advanced Artistic Editing services include:
-
Facial Retouching (Blemish Removal, Skin Smoothing): We use layer masking techniques
in Photoshop to apply these effects.
-
Removal of Objects: We us clone stamping, content aware fill, compositing of images,
and other techniques at the editor’s disposal to remove objects from your images.
-
Detailed Color & Saturation Channel Adjustments: These adjustments are similar to
Creative Saturation, but are more refined and limited to local areas within an image.
-
Professional Press Print Sharpening: We use Photoshop’s powerful sharpening tools,
such as un-sharp mask; hi pass filters, etc., to sharpen the images.
